Randy's Scoop                  Winter 2012

2011 was a very successful year for Chapter 7. The leadership, committees, advisory members, and directors should be commended for a great job for our club.

2011 was highlighted by the International Harvester Collector’s National Winter Convention in Columbus one of BEST ever. A special thanks to those who worked so hard in planning and working, our sponsors, and the many exhibitors and vendors. Next came the summer state show hosted by “The Pioneer Engineer’s Club” in Rushville. A special thanks to Mark and Dawn Dieckmann, members of Chapter 7, and the Rushville Club for all of their extra help to make everyone feel welcome.

Our IH Tillage day, delayed for sure, came off great with the help of our host Jim & John Yoars. It was great to see the Old Red Power once again turning dirt and sometimes mud. Thanks to all who came. A great time was enjoyed by all.

2012 is lining up to be a great year. Our first quarter meeting will again be held at Jonathan Byrd’s in Greenwood on January 29th.  A director’s meeting will be at 11:00 AM followed by lunch and our first quarter meeting beginning at 12 o’clock. We will need to decide on a place for the second quarter spring meeting and select a host for our tillage day.

March 30th – April 1st at the Fort Wayne Indiana Coliseum will be the Winter Tractor & Engine Show sponsored by the Indiana, Ohio, and Michigan IHC chapters. The goal is to fill the house with Red!!! You may get the sign-up or registration forms from our website or by contacting Max Favorite Ch. 33. Max will also answer any questions you have.  Exhibits should be on the grounds by the end of the day March 29th and must stay until the end of the show April 1st 3 PM.  Pre-registering is necessary so Max can better plan the layouts for our IH tractors and exhibits.

Our summer state show will be hosted by the White River Valley Antique Association in Elnora, Indiana (Southwest Indiana) September 6th - 9th with our summer meeting on Saturday the 8th at 1 PM. Our goal is to have 400 IH exhibits at the show. Bring your exhibit and enjoy the fun at one of the best shows in Indiana. Camping is available; however, there will be limited electric/water sites. Contact WRV to reserve your spot. Motels are available in nearby Washington and Vincennes, Indiana.

We hope to all of you this year at our IHC activities. If you have ideas or places to go email me at rbarret1967@gmail.com
