The third quarter meeting was held at the Tippecanoe Steam and Gas Powered Association in West Lafayette, IN on July 24, 2010. Tom Smith, President, welcomed everyone. Tom thanked Steve Butram and thanked them for hosting us.They have a great facility and a nice show. Steve thanked everyone for coming. They enjoyed hosting Chapter 7 and hope that we will consider coming again in the future.

Our condolences are extended to the Lord family. Ruby passed away on July 12th, and Howard is now in a nursing home.

Tom introduced the advisors and directors. He thanked everyone for coming and bringing exhibits. He asked everyone to introduce themselves.
The secretary’s report was given by Dawn Dieckmann. The report will be approved after it is published in the newsletter. The treasurer’s report was given by Rosemary Zeller. A motion to accept the report was made by Bob Off and seconded by Emmett Webb. Motion carried.
Emmett Webb reported that we have 255 members, but only half have paid their dues. Dues were due by July 1st. We picked up four new members at RPRU.

Emmett also reported on the website.  ll of the forms for the Winter Convention are available online. Please contact Emmett with any changes that need to be made. He is still looking for articles, pictures, ads, etc. for the website.

Mark Dieckmann gave a report on the chapter table.  Sales are going very well.  We have some new items for the table and are still looking for ideas.

Jerry Smoker thanked Chapter 7 for all our help at RPRU. He stated that they never could have done it without all of the volunteers. Jerry presented Chapter 7 with a check from Chapter 33. He appreciates all of our efforts and cannot say thank you enough. Tom thanked Jerry for the donation and for hosting a great RPRU. Jerry informed us that he will be running for National Director and would appreciate the support on Chapter 7 in this effort. Please remember to vote!

Tillage Day will be held at DeVault Farms in Lafayette. There are directions and a site map available on the website and at the chapter table. There are 240 acres available with plenty of parking.  Bob would like for people to pre-register so that we can better plan for the meal. A date is tentatively set for September 18th, but it could change based on harvest and the weather. The fourth quarter meeting will be held at tillage day.  Since the meeting may fall in September, a motion was made by Bob Off to waive the bi-laws and allow the fourth quarter meeting to be held during the third quarter. The motion was seconded by Trudy Umberger. Motion carried.

A motion to accept the Tillage Day guidelines was made by Randy Barrett and seconded by Bob Jones.  Motion carried.

Tom asked the membership if they would like to have the first quarter meeting at the Holiday Inn where the winter convention will take place. If we do this, we will have to make reservations and pay ahead. This will be more expensive than going to Jonathon Byrd’s.  Bob Off made a motion to have the first quarter meeting at Jonathon Byrd’s and it was seconded by Wilson Gatewood. Motion carried.

The 2011 State Show will be hosted by the Pioneer Engineer Club in Rushville. Caldwell Pioneer Acres is located approximately three miles south of Rushville on State Road 3. If you wish to camp, there are limited electric sites available. Please make reservations by contacting Eric Hurst at ehurst@yahoo.com  by June 1st, 2011. After June 1st, the sites will be made available to everyone.
There is a lot of interest in the Winter Convention. The room rates are affordable and the site is in a convenient location. Trudy is working on the program book.  Chuck Heck made a motion to give Trudy $100 for postage and misc
supplies for sending out information to vendors for the program book, seconded by Emmett Webb. Motion carried.  Randy Barrett is looking for outside exhibits. Please contact him if you are interested in bringing something. We are featuring the Scout and the Cub Cadet. We will have an IH only consignment auction on Friday evening. It will be limited to approximately 100 items.  Please contact Neil Michel with your consignment or donation.
We need a host site for our second quarter 2011 meeting.

The three directors whose terms expire in 2010 are Chuck Heck, Rosemary Zeller, and Bob Off.  Chuck and Bob are not seeking re-election. Rosemary agreed to run again. The nominations from the nominating committee are Randy Barrett, Brian Pierce, and Rosemary Zeller. Since there were 3 open positions, and 3 nominees, Emmett Webb made a motion to close nominations and accept the three nominees as the new directors, seconded by Neil Michel. Tom thanked Chuck and Bob for all of their hard work and efforts as directors.
Neil Michel and Bob Zarse reviewed the membership account and it is approved. The promotional account and the general account will be reviewed by the fourth quarter meeting.

Bob Off expressed his concerns about the 2011 RPRU. As of now, there is no information available.  Please contact Bruce Jensen, the Minnesota Chapter President to get information.

Steve Butram thanked everyone for coming and bringing exhibits.  They hosted the Oliver Collectors national show and had approximately 180 tractors. His goal was to have more IH tractors at our state show, and we were able to help him achieve that goal.

The next winter convention meeting will be held at the Holiday Inn in Columbus in October.  The date and time will be announced at the fourth quarter meeting.

Meeting adjourned.

Chuck Heck reported on issues the National Directors are dealing with. They have tabled enforcing vendors to have insurance at RPRU next year. There are no plans to raise dues at this time. Al Dummler, the National Membership Secretary will be retiring. Emmett Webb and Debbie Mitchell will potentially take his place. Chuck also commented on the RPRU. He congratulated Jerry for a great show and complimented Chapter 33 on all of their hard work.

Bob DeVault of DeVault Farms asked Chapter 7 to come to his farm for our 2010 Tillage Day. He has 240 acres in Lafayette on State Road 28. The field is level, there is plenty of parking, and a building is available for our fourth quarter meeting. There is another site available in southern Indiana, near Vevay. There are 60 acres, but the access to this site is difficult. Bob Zarse made a motion to go to DeVault Farms, seconded by Emmett Webb. Motion carried.

Guidelines for tillage day are posted on the website. Please review so that we can vote to approve them at our third quarter meeting.

The annual election will take place at our third quarter meeting. If you are interested in being a Director, please send your biography to Chuck Heck.

Trudy Umberger made a motion to adjourn. Chuck Heck seconded.
